Who is responsible
FiscalOS publishes this material through its product and accounting research team. The team translates accounting workflows and official tax material into product controls, workpapers, and plain-language explanations. FiscalOS does not attach a professional credential to a person unless that identity and credential can be verified.
Maya AI is FiscalOS’s chief financial officer inside the product. Maya can organize records, run controlled calculations, retrieve sources, and prepare reviewable work. She is not a CPA, attorney, return preparer, or substitute for a professional who understands a customer’s complete facts.
How a financial claim is produced
Tax claims start with primary authority, normally the IRS form, instructions, publication, revenue procedure, or statute that applies to the stated tax year. Accounting claims start with the actual product workflow and its recorded evidence. Marketing copy does not override either source.
Rules with dates, rates, thresholds, or tax-year meaning live in versioned rule packs or cited workpapers. Calculations use exact minor-unit money and controlled rounding. Tests cover the same boundary that could change a financial result, and a later source change can mark a prior review stale.
Source first
Find the governing primary source before describing a tax treatment or year-specific rule.
Facts before conclusion
Separate what the company records prove from facts that still require the owner or adviser.
Reviewable output
Show citations, assumptions, warnings, and the stored proposal or workpaper behind the result.
Controlled change
Keep posted accounting history append-only and replace stale guidance through a new reviewed record.
Why the process is visible
Financial software should help a person reach a careful decision, not manufacture certainty. FiscalOS exposes the source, period, assumptions, and unresolved evidence so an owner or accountant can challenge the result without reverse-engineering a black box.
This public material explains product behavior and general recordkeeping practices. It is not individualized accounting, legal, or tax advice, and it does not promise a tax outcome, filing result, penalty result, or audit result.
How updates are handled
Every public methodology page carries a reviewed date. Material product changes update the affected page; time-sensitive tax content is tied to a stated tax year and primary source. When the evidence is incomplete or authority has not been reviewed, FiscalOS should say so and stop short of a conclusion.
